From mixing your paint colors to alternating your application tools, there are endless ways to achieve your desired texture, giving your surfaces depth and interest. Want a room inspired by Old World Venice, with a plaster wall effect and raw-form finish? With Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan, you can achieve it.
You Will Need:
• Chalk Paint®
• Chalk Paint® Brush
• Clear Chalk Paint® Wax
• Dark, Black, or White Chalk Paint® Wax
• Hair Dryer (optional)
- Apply two thick coats of Chalk Paint®. Brush expressively with a Chalk Paint® brush to create texture. To get even more texture, when the paint is almost dry go over it again to create more brush marks. Dry with a hair dryer to form cracks.
- Apply Clear Chalk Paint® Wax to the piece, working it into the surface using a lint-free cloth or Chalk Paint® Wax Brush.
- For an aged, industrial, or coastal look respectively, apply a coat of Dark, Black, or White Chalk Paint® Wax. This will emphasize brush marks, cracks, and texture. Leave to dry in a warm place for 24 hours.
Tip:
To remove excess colored wax, use a little Clear Chalk Paint® Wax on a lint-free cloth and rub away.
